Isn’t it weird how ‘ole 45* desperately needs a fellow New Yorker to cobble together a deal in the Senate? Golly, I thought the Racist-in-Chief™ was supposed to be a super-duper wheeler-dealer, but I guess not…
The New York Times Editorial Board squarely places the blame at the feet of those darned Republicans. Let’s hope they step in it too!
Take a moment to scan this rather illuminating timeline, (also published by The New York Times), which chronicles how this so-called “crisis” was manufactured by the Republican majority in Congress, (many of which now wandering aimlessly around inside the Capitol Building), as well as the bloviating idiot trapped inside the White House, (despite the fact he really wanted to be in Florida).
Let’s face it, our duly-elected representatives aren’t terribly interested in producing legislation meant to improve the lives of average Americans, but heck, give ’em a microphone and watch ’em rage, each attempting to claim the moral high ground! Remember, it’s all about getting (re)elected, producing a never-ending stream of sound bites and finally deciding you’ve had enough. Presto, bango – it’s off to K Street!
If there was ever a time for civically-minded centrists to bravely step forward and run for office, it’s now. We’ve got a lot of cleaning up to do.
