Entirely ‘unpresidented’ speech…

I’m beginning to lose my faith in [media/press/news] outlets of any and all types…

True, I opted to skip Trump’s address on Tuesday evening, but I have to say I’m rather disappointed in the abject fawning I’ve seen splattered across countless websites today – and even in the print editions of the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal – all of which breathlessly reported how “presidential”, (their word, definitely not mine), the narcissist-in-chief was during his Congressional debut last night.

Sorry, but the mindless recital of a seemingly-endless string of vacuous sound bites, pausing, and then associating the obviously partisan applause with his own inflated sense of self-worth stimulated an urge to retch more than once while I was casually taking in the headlines. I had to assure the anxious barista it was most assuredly not my pour-over; rather it was the absolute rubbish I was scrolling through causing the involuntary gag reflex!

Paying attention to the Applause-O-Meter? What a narcissistic assh*le! There wasn’t anything even mildly presidential about this charade, (hence the title). Why would the media choose to foolishly lower expectations? Heck, why would the American public choose to lower their expectations? Me, nope, not gonna do it – gonna keep the bar high, waaaaaay high. This miserable, preening, thin-skinned jackass isn’t going to get one ounce of respect from me. Ever.

Resist. Persist. Prevail.
