According to the online dictionary, Wiktionary, the 2nd definition of flam means:
A falsehood; a lie; an illusory pretext; deception; delusion.
Yeah, I think that pretty much sums up what Michael T. Flynn was fobbing off as the so-called “truth”, (or his approximation of the “truth”), with respect to conversations he had with the Russian ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak, on December 29th, 2016, (well before the inauguration)!
Said differently, seems we have a former – emphasis on former – general from the U.S. military, (meaning Flynn had no officially-sanctioned capacity at the time to represent government policy positions whatsoever), deciding it was completely acceptable to engage in conversation with the officially-designated official representing Russia, uh, well, you know, just because he felt like it…
According to a New York Times article published today:
The national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, has hunkered down since investigators began looking into what, exactly, he told the Russian ambassador to the United States about the lifting of sanctions imposed in the last days of the Obama administration, and whether he misled Vice President Mike Pence about those conversations.
…and according to a Wall Street Journal article published today:
Mr. Flynn is the first person inside the White House under Mr. Trump whose communications are known to have faced scrutiny as part of investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency and Treasury Department…
Wow, certainly not the agencies I’d want to antagonize, but hey… Let’s hope one of these agencies has the ability to convince the cheeto-in-chief™ to discharge Flynn immediately! Yeah, right, like that’s going to happen…
According to a Washington Post article published today:
Furthermore, people in Trump’s orbit cautioned that the president was unlikely to fire Flynn because doing so would amount to an admission of guilt and misjudgment in the face of media scrutiny and would also demonstrate chaos early in his presidency.
Damn! Here I thought maybe, just maybe, the idiot brigade currently encamped the White House might be learning a thing or two after the repeated miscues, misfires and gross miscalculations committed during the first three weeks of this seemingly-never-ending travesty known as the Trump administration…

Update: At 11:10 PM EST, the Washington Post published a bulletin indicating Michael T. Flynn resigned earlier this evening. Resist. Persist. Prevail.
